Claire's always cramming Daniel's toys and other random household objects into her mouth, so we thought that it might be an idea to try food for once. As with Daniel, first go around was sweet potatoes. Since then she's also had butternut squash, pears, and a motorized Thomas the Tank Engine that was still running at the time.

Customary 7 month pictures. And no, I have no idea what's up with the tongue so don't ask. She was 18 pounds 2 ounces when she turned 7 months old. She's crawling all over the place, pulling up to standing, and doing a little unassisted standing and cruising.

Apparently being sick all last week didn't slow Claire down. During that time, we confirmed the existence of a tooth (so far it's just a sharp edge poking out), she figured out how to go from hands and knees to sitting up, and she has officially started crawling. Busy girl! :)

I'm posting some pictures as I've been informed this is my department.

I know we're behind on posting pics, but that's pretty much Paul's department. ;) He has the fancy software to make sure the colors and lighting are accurate and whatnot....I don't know the first thing about how to work it. So I'll just update stats, which we haven't done in a while either.

At Claire's 4 month appointment (which was really at about 4 months and a week or so), she was 14 lbs 7 oz and 25 1/2 inches. She didn't have a 5 month appointment, but we weighed her at home, and she was 16 lbs even. Yesterday at her 6 month appointment, she was 17 lbs 8 oz and supposedly 27 1/4 inches, though I'm pretty sure she wiggled when she was measured, so it's probably more like 27 inches.

She's also fighting an icky cold. :(

She's been sitting up unassisted since Christmas day, and she's currently trying very hard to crawl. She can get up on her hands and knees, but then she mostly just rocks back and forth or slides backwards. She did get a little forward motion yesterday though. So we'll be double checking all the babyproofing again. :)
